Coronavirus (COVID-19): NDIS Participant information
We understand many NDIS participants will be anxious and concerned
about their personal wellbeing and getting the support they need through the NDIS. This document from the NDIS outlines participant information surrounding expectations, rights & what do if you have a complaint during the COVID-19 situation.
Coronavirus/COVID19 Easy English Resource
The Growing Space has produced a useful guide for those with low literacy, intellectual or cognitive disability, learning disability, and for some from CALD or ATSI backgrounds to better understand the COVID-19 situation and how they can prepare and keep safe. The language is simple, clear and accessible. The resource is five pages long and covers information about self isolation and business closures and distancing rules.
Occupational Therapy Guide: Normal Life has been disrupted
Occupational Therapist and OTA Member Lorrae Mynard has published the ebook - Normal life has been disrupted: a guide for managing disruption to occupational participation.
Many people will be spending much more time in their home, which is why it's important we learn how to adapt our daily lives.
The guide presents occupational concepts of productivity, leisure, self-care, environment, routine and roles in plain language and presents suggestions and examples of how to adapt and manage the disruption to occupational participation. It was designed for use by the general public. Occupational therapists may find it a useful resource for supporting consumers with managing the present situation, and for sharing with others in their own personal and professional networks.
